Dr. Laura Waters – Consultant Physician

Laura WatersDr. Laura Waters is a distinguished Consultant in HIV and Genitourinary (GU) Medicine with over 25 years of experience. She is the National Specialty Advisor for HIV and Chair of the HIV Clinical Reference Group, where she plays a key role in shaping national HIV care strategies. In addition, she leads the British Association of Sexual Health & HIV (BASHH) Patient & Public Voice Panel and contributes to the development of national sexual and reproductive health guidelines through her work with BHIVA and BASHH. As Vice-Chair of the British HIV Association (BHIVA) Conference Sub-Committee, she is instrumental in curating scientific programs for advancing HIV medicine.

Dr. Waters is deeply engaged in research as a Principal Investigator on antiretroviral trials and as an executive member of the NEAT-ID clinical trials network. Her editorial expertise supports the publication of high-quality research in her role as Associate Editor for HIV Medicine. A passionate educator, she lectures at University College London (UCL) and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), fostering the next generation of medical professionals.

Her academic credentials include an MD(Res) and an MBBS with Distinction from Imperial College London, alongside Fellow and Member certifications from the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP, MRCP). She also holds a Diploma in Genitourinary Medicine from the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries. Dr. Waters is a committed advocate for clinical excellence, research innovation, and patient-centered care in HIV and sexual health medicine.

Dr. Sara Khan – General Practitioner and Primary Care Physician

Sara KhanDr. Sara Khan is a highly accomplished former General Practitioner and Primary Care Physician known for her outstanding contributions to clinical practice, healthcare policy, and medical education. Her career is marked by numerous accolades, including recognition in the Pulse Top 50 GP list in 2013 and awards for her exceptional contributions to GP training and education, such as the London Deanery’s “Best Individual Trainee Project” and “Outstanding Contribution to GP Training” in 2010. Her influence extends beyond clinical practice, with a proven record of advancing healthcare through her work as a commissioner and medico-politician.

Dr. Khan’s academic achievements are equally distinguished. She holds a Fellowship of Imperial College School of Medicine Students’ Union, awarded for her extraordinary contributions to the medical school community. Her passion for global health led her to win the Vandervell Elective Prize in 2005 for her research during a medical elective at the Department of Haematology & Oncology in New Zealand. She also earned the St. Mary’s Association Elective Prize in 2004 for her remarkable contributions to medical school life, further cementing her reputation as a leader among her peers.

Certified by the Royal College of General Practitioners (2011) and the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine (2022), Dr. Khan has held a Full License to Practice from the General Medical Council since 2007. Her education includes advanced studies at Duke University, providing her with a global perspective on healthcare delivery and innovation. With her blend of clinical excellence, strategic vision, and commitment to education, Dr. Khan continues to inspire and drive change in the healthcare sector.

Laura Buckley – Advanced Clinical Pharmacist

Laura BuckleyLaura Buckley is an Advanced Clinical PCN Pharmacist with a passion for advancing the pharmacy profession and enhancing public understanding of its critical role in healthcare. As a writer and advocate, she uses her voice to explore professional challenges and share the importance of pharmacy with a broader audience. Her work extends to leadership roles, including her position as Lead for Primary Care within the Guild of Healthcare Pharmacists.

Laura has a robust clinical background, having served as a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist in General Practice within the NHS, where she contributed to improving patient outcomes through her expertise in medication management and primary care. Her educational foundation includes a Master of Pharmacy degree from the University of Huddersfield, complemented by early academic achievements at Greenhead College.

Recognized for her contributions to the field, Laura was named Blogger of the Year by the Medical Journalists’ Association and honored as the Rising Star of the Year by the Primary Care Pharmacy Association, both in 2020. With her dedication to clinical excellence, education, and advocacy, Laura continues to be a driving force in pharmacy and primary care.

Eunice Yeow – Pharmacist

Eunice Yeow is a dedicated pre-registration pharmacist and a valued member of the team at Happy Family Store, our online pharmacy. She brings a strong foundation in pharmaceutical education and professional practice, enriched by hands-on experience gained during her year at Junction Pharmacy in London. There, she developed her clinical and patient care skills, preparing for her transition to a fully licensed pharmacist.

In addition to her pharmacy expertise, Eunice has a background in communications, having served as Director of Communications for Malaysian Bioscience Scholars. This role allowed her to enhance the organization’s outreach and engagement within the bioscience community in the United Kingdom, demonstrating her versatility and leadership.

Eunice earned her Master’s degree in Pharmacy from University College London (UCL), building on her academic achievements at Taylor’s College, where she excelled in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics. With her blend of clinical training and communication skills, Eunice plays a key role in delivering high-quality services and fostering meaningful connections with our customers.

Naira Ghanem – Pharmacist, Educator

Naira GhanemNaira Ghanem is a pharmacist with extensive experience in secondary care and academia, dedicated to education and self-development to inspire the next generation of pharmacists. With a background in hospital pharmacy, she has served as a Medicines Information Pharmacist at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, gaining expertise in clinical decision-making and patient care. Her passion for education led her to become a Pharmacist Teacher Practitioner, blending practical experience with academic instruction to enhance pharmacy practice.

A graduate of UCL School of Pharmacy (MPharm), Naira was actively involved in university life, serving as President of the UCLU Arabic Society. She further advanced her academic credentials with a Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy from Kingston University, focusing on inclusive teaching practices, active learning strategies, and technology-enhanced education. This fellowship deepened her commitment to aligning pharmacy education with evolving professional needs, fostering engagement, and improving training outcomes.

Naira’s interests span pharmacy practice and global health, and she contributes as a Clinical Writer for the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. Her multifaceted expertise and dedication to professional development make her a dynamic leader in advancing pharmacy education and practice.

Oye Oloyede – Newly Registered Pharmacist with Diverse Experience

Oye OloyedeOye Oloyede is a newly registered pharmacist in the UK with a solid foundation of experience gained through hospital placements, community pharmacy work, and months of delivering COVID-19 vaccinations. These experiences have honed her communication, teamwork, and leadership skills, which she is eager to apply in advancing pharmacy practice and optimizing outcomes for future employers.

A graduate of The University of Manchester with a Master’s degree in Pharmacy, Oye is dedicated to continuous learning and professional development. She has completed certifications in Pharmacy First Face-to-Face Training, Pharmacy First E-Learning, and Dementia Friend training, reflecting her commitment to providing patient-centered care and expanding her expertise in specialized areas.
